The book itself consists of a list of authors with a portrait (in most cases) and extracts from their writing. An important piece of social history in its own right although tragically devoid of women.

Condition: Cover worn with age, especially the spine. Pages still intact and holding together. Some tanning and foxing consistent with this book's tremendous age.
